Life Around Here {Daybook}

God’s Glory in Nature

  mom blog

I realized after my trip to NYC while I treasure the wide open spaces so much. Growing up in Queens high rise buildings I never saw a lot of it except when we lived in Bayside which is on Little Neck Bay and has some beautiful parks. My dream for 32 years was to live in a real house with a real backyard. Now,  after living in Florida for 20 years Queens seems so…congested! But I still love NY!

Giving Thanks

It’s Valentine’s Day and I’m thankful for my husband who I know loves me deeply and will try to move heaven and earth for our family.

School Days

Working on through an Olympic Unit Study and our ND program. Nicolas really loves his school but has turned into quite the Casanova. Public school is a whole new world after homeschooling everybody else.

In Our Kitchen

I’ve acclimated to cooking Paleo quite well. For me, it’s just been a matter of planning ahead and finding the right recipes.

Around the Home

We now have a rebounder in the family room but I want to move it out to the lanai. Since I’ve been so unwell I can only manage about five minutes on it.

Plans for the Coming Week

It’s going to be one of those appointment heavy weeks that I hate!

On My Kindle

I do most of my reading here now. It’s just easier given the lighting in my room and it’s very portable when I have appointments. I love listening to Max MacLean reading the King James Version!

Still dealing with mono. I’m okay in the mornings but still get tired in the afternoon. I entered the giveaway for a Free Instructor Training at Holy Yoga. Trying to be hopeful but of course there are many others who have entered! We don’t have any instructors at all in Tampa. I do it on my own and can testify to the enormous healing and improvement I’ve received and would love to minister to others. I know there is still healing that needs to happen. Regardless of whether I win or not I will stay on the journey and hope the door opens in the future for me to go.

  1. Lucky you, at least you don’t get snow storms anymore in Florida lol! I am happy to live in a rural area with all the open space. Love today’s post and thanks for sharing. (form SITS)

  2. Oh, I hope you feel better! And I liked your positive mention of the KJB. That’s the only bible we trust in our family 😉 . And, I’ll say a prayer for you since this is a not-so-fun week (you said a “heavy” week).

  3. I’ll visit big cities, but I could never see myself living in one. Way too much cement for me.

  4. Hiya! Visiting from the Boost Your Blog link up! We have been eating semi-Paleo for about 2 years now. It’s amazing the differences it can make. I hope you are finding some great recipes you enjoy! That can be the hard thing at first.

  5. Hey there,

It’s so nice to meet other homeschooling families. Busy week you have lined up. I also hate appointment heavy weeks. It’s exhausting and financially taxing (at least for us). I swear doctors say you have to come back just to get the extra dough.

Anywho, I love the picture! What a handsome boy!

I hope you had a great Valentines Day filled with joy and love! Thank so much for participating in the 100 day blog challenge! Have a great weekend.

  6. So sorry you’re not up to par. Get plenty of rest. These days whatever sickness you get, it seems to linger so much longer, and be so much harder to get over. It looks like you’re doing a good job of getting thru it. I’m also here from the boost linkup. I look forward to following and reading more of your posts.

  10. I am realizing just how much a treasure space too. We are looking at getting some land because it just sounds so much nicer than being crowed around everyone else.

  11. Big cities scare me. LOL I’m much more at home with lots of green grass and trees. I hope you’re able to get a lot of rest so that you can build your strength up. Stopping by from Boost Your Blog.

  16. Visiting from the BYB challenge. I hope you are feeling better soon. Our family has been battling a nasty cold virus that just seems to be going round and round so I know what it’s like to feel so run down. I agree with you about the wide open spaces. Although I love visiting, I could never go back to living in a big city again.

  17. I also grew up in Queens! We lived in Jackson Heights. My sister is still living in the city (close to Long Island, can never remember exactly where), but I moved out of the city 22 years ago (lived there until I was 19 and then moved with my husband and newborn son). I now live in rural Northern Pa and my mom moved out of Queens several years after we did. She now lives in Williamsport Pa. I have gone back to visit, but I could NEVER live there again.

In an appointment heavy week remember to take them one at a time and leave some “me” time in there as well.
