about

Thanks for stopping by my little spot in cyberspace! My name is Marya and I’ve been living in the Tampa Bay area for 20 years. I’m a New Yorker who is just now coming to terms with living in Florida after 20 years. I’m a wife and mom of four great kids with multiple special needs including Down Syndrome, ADHD, Congenital Heart Defect, and Neurofibromatosis Type 1. I became disabled myself in 2010 with cervical dystonia, a neurological movement disorder affecting my neck and shoulders.

We have many challenges on our plate but I am determined to live life to the fullest and find joy in each day. I am a long time homeschooler. Besides spending time with my family, I enjoy blogging and social media, great food and yoga. I believe that faith and natural health are key to living victoriously with the challenges in our lives.

My mission for this blog is twofold – to share my faith, experience, strength and hope with people who have been impacted by disability, depression or addictions of any type.

I also want to advocate for those whom society considers “the least of these”… the developmentally disabled. I firmly believe that as more parents develop social media platforms and begin to speak out on behalf of our loved ones, that we can change the world leading to greater awareness, acceptance and inclusion.

If you’d like to join me on my journey of faith, recovery and natural wellness, I’d love to have your company! I plan to publish two to three times a week and always seek to serve my readers. Keep in touch by entering your email below.
